This Basic Boating Safety course is approved by the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators and recognized as
acceptable to the United States Coast Guard Recreational Boating Program.
This course covers basic boating safety concepts that you need to know if you intend to participate in water sport activities.
.Objectives: The Nautical Know How Basic Boating Safety Course is made available to educate and provide information to anyone
interested in boating and boating safety. The objectives of the course are to make the general public aware of the following:
·        State and Federal laws and regulations as they pertain to boating and vessel operation.
·        Aspects of boating that not only help you become a safer boater, but also make boating a more enjoyable activity.
·        Issues in boating  which could potentially be dangerous to the marine environment.
·        Making boaters aware of their responsibility to themselves, their guests and other boaters.
This course is designed to introduce new and old boaters to legal and safe boating practices. It applies to all who use a boat,
whether as skipper or as someone simply along for the fun. It is primarily designed to address the requirements of recreational
vessels. We encourage you to use this course as a starting point in your continuing boating education.
The 8 hour course will be in two 4 hour classes. The first course will be held on Sat. June 6 ,2009 from 8am – 12pm and the
second part of the class will be held the following Sat. June 13  from 8am - 12pm. The course will be held at Cedar Creek Marina.
There is a fee for the class, $10 per person.  Please don’t be late.
