The bridge on Route 36 in Slaughter Beach that crosses Cedar Creek will be closed again: June 14 – 28, 2021.

TRAFFIC ALERT – Counterweight Work Will Require the Closure of the Bridge over Cedar Creek-Sussex County

Traffic Information: DelDOT announces to motorists that their contractor will perform counter-weight work on the bridge over Cedar Creek on Route 36/Cedar Beach Road between Lighthouse Road and Marina Lane.

The road closure will occur at 6 a.m. on Monday, June 14 until 5 p.m. on Monday, June 28, pending weather.

The bridge will be open to marine traffic.

Detour Routes:

Motorists traveling east on Route 36/Cedar Beach Road will be detoured south on Route 1 to Slaughter Beach Road northeast to Bay Avenue.

Motorists traveling west on Route 36/Cedar Beach Road will be detoured south on Bay Avenue to Slaughter Beach Road onto Route 1 and take Cedar Creek Road eastbound.

Detour signage will be posted for motorists. At all times, residents will have access to their homes but may need to take the posted detour route.
