Important Notice: Spoofed Emails Pretending to Be from Cedar Creek Marina / Cedar Creek Marine Center
We want to address a recent issue that may have affected some of our customers and community members. Over the past few days, several people have reported receiving fraudulent emails that appear to come from Cedar Creek Marina or Cedar Creek Marine Center. These messages falsely claim that we are hosting a holiday party, that you have items to pick up, or that you need to click a link for more details.
We want to offer a sincere apology for any confusion or concern these spoofed messages may have caused. These emails did not come from us, and we are actively working to make the situation clear so no one is misled.
Please Do NOT Click Any Links in These Emails
If you received a suspicious message:
Do not click any links.
Do not download attachments.
Do not reply to the email.
Delete it immediately.
These fraudulent links may attempt to steal personal information, install malware, or lead you to unsafe websites.
What Is Email Spoofing?
Email spoofing is a tactic used by scammers to make an email look like it came from a trusted source—using familiar names, email addresses, or branding. In reality, the message originates from a malicious sender who is disguising their identity.
Spoofers typically aim to:
Trick recipients into clicking unsafe links
Gather login credentials or personal information
Install harmful software
Create confusion or impersonate a business
Unfortunately, spoofing is common because email systems can’t always verify whether the “From” address truly belongs to the sender.
How to Protect Yourself
Here are a few ways to stay safe:
Check the sender’s actual email address, not just the display name.
Look for spelling errors, unusual requests, or messages that feel “off.”
Hover over links (without clicking) to see where they really lead.
When in doubt, contact us directly through our official website or phone number—not through the suspicious email.
We’re Here to Help
Your safety and trust are important to us. If you received one of these spoofed emails or aren’t sure whether a message is legitimate, please reach out. We’re happy to confirm anything that seems suspicious.
Thank you for your understanding, and again, we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Stay safe, stay cautious, and know that we value your continued support.
