Bridge Closure: June 14 – 28, 2021

The bridge on Route 36 in Slaughter Beach that crosses Cedar Creek will be closed again: June 14 - 28, 2021.

TRAFFIC ALERT - Counterweight Work Will Require the Closure of the Bridge over Cedar Creek-Sussex County

The road closure will occur at 6 a.m. on Monday, June 14 until 5 p.m. on Monday, June 28, pending weather.

The bridge will be open to marine traffic.

Detour Routes:

Motorists traveling east on Route 36/Cedar Beach Road will be detoured south on Route 1 to Slaughter Beach Road northeast to Bay Avenue.

Motorists traveling west on Route 36/Cedar Beach Road will be detoured south on Bay Avenue to Slaughter Beach Road onto Route 1 and take Cedar Creek Road eastbound.

Detour signage will be posted for motorists. At all times, residents will have access to their homes but may need to take the posted detour route.

Vessel Safety Checks: June 18, 2021

June 19, 2021 from 10 am - 2 pm the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary is hosting a Vessel Safety Check Station at Slaughter Beach Memorial Fire Co., 359 Bay Ave, Milford, DE

Marina customers may contact Ernie Stevens at 240-472-8659 or locomotiveengineer2@gmail.com to arrange to have their Vessel Safety Check completed at the Marina.

Bridge Closure May 3 – 17, 2021

Below is the information that was emailed to us from the Town of Slaughter Beach regarding the bridge closure May 3 - 17, 2021:

Maintenance Work Will Require the Closure of the Bridge over Cedar Creek-Sussex County

 Traffic Information:  DelDOT announces to motorists that their contractor will be performing repairs on the bridge over Cedar Creek on Route 36/Cedar Beach Road between Lighthouse Road and Wells Road.

The closure will occur at 7 a.m. on Monday, May 3 until 11 p.m. on Monday, May 17, pending weather.

Detour Routes:

FT Experienced Marine Technician – Milford, DE

Cedar Creek Marina is looking for a FT Experienced Marine Technician for our boat dealership and marina in Slaughter Beach, DE.  Duties to include but not limited to: servicing new and used boats, motors and trailers, and giving customers demos.  Work in a shop with heat and AC.  Minimum 3 years experience required. Must have reliable transportation.

Entry Level Yard Help – Milford, DE

Cedar Creek Marina is looking for motivated individual to help around the yard. Includes a variety of tasks, but not limited to: cleaning equipment, washing and powerwashing boats, bottom painting boats, taking out trash, keeping yard and dock clean, cutting grass, filling boats with gas, assisting customers on the dock, handling bait, and assisting other personnel as needed. This would be a great job for a student or retiree.

Store, Office, Parts and Service: The doors will remain locked to public access.  Please call us and we will be glad to assist you. Milford: 302-422-2040  Seaford: 302-404-5471

Storage and Forklift Service (at the Marina): All requests must be done by phone. We will continue to assist you at the dock while practicing social distancing. 

Boat registrations:  At this time we will not be processing boat registrations for the near foreseeable future. Due to the Covid-19 outbreak we are trying to limit exposure to our staff.  We encourage you to visit:  https://dnrec.alpha.delaware.gov/fish-wildlife/boating/registration   to register your boat online.  

Sales:  We will conduct boat sales by appointment.  Our online inventory is kept up to date.  Call or email us  and we will gladly give you more information on a particular boat or set up an appointment with our sales staff. 

We ask that all customers respect social distancing while visiting.

As many of you are aware Governor Carney has issued a stay-at-home order and closed non-essential businesses.  Due to the classification of our business license, we are allowed to remain open at this time.  We will remain open as long as we are allowed to do so.   We encourage you to call before visiting so that we may best serve you.  We are ready to assist you while maintaining a safe and healthy environment.  

Boat registrations:  At this time we will not be processing boat registrations for the near foreseeable future. Due to the Covid-19 outbreak we are trying to limit exposure to our staff.  We encourage you to visit:  https://dnrec.alpha.delaware.gov/fish-wildlife/boating/registration   to register your boat online.  

Sales:  We will conduct boat sales by appointment.  Our online inventory is kept up to date.  Call or email us  and we will gladly give you more information on a particular boat or set up an appointment with our sales staff. 

Store, Parts and Service:  Will remain open.  Please call us to see if we have your parts in stock.  We are able to put your order together ahead of time for pick-up.  Call us to set up a service appointment.  We can have your work order written up over the phone, or fill out our online service request so that all you have to do is drop off your boat. 

Storage/Forklift Service (at the Marina): We plan to be open on April 1st for forklift service.
